May: Insights, resources, and updates

Hi Reader,

May looks beautiful here in Toronto, with spring flowers in full bloom and the trees finally waking up. What does spring look like where you live?

Let's dive into today's topics:

1. Life as an Introvert
2. Relationships & Communication
3. Job Search & Career
4. Business & Entrepreneurship
5. Mind-Body-Spirit Connection
6. Hobbies
& Leisure

1. Life as an Introvert

Many things changed since I created my first photo-coaching album. However, one thing remains constant: our innate desire to learn and grow.
With AI transforming so many aspects of our personal and professional lives,
strengthening our "human" side—our unique edge—is more important than ever. That is why I am launching a new event series: "Learn Self-Coaching Skills."
These sessions can help you intentionally build essential internal "resources"—like resilience, creative problem-solving, and tapping into your intuition for insights and wiser decisions.

The goal? To ensure you have these "tools" ready when you need them most, especially when time or resources for external help aren't available. In today’s economic uncertainty, building these "portable" skills is a smart long-term investment you can make in yourself.
Join us (in-person or virtually) for the first session:

Via Zoom: Friday, May 15 @ 6 pm EST (max. 15 people)
In-person: Saturday, May 16 @ 6 pm EST (max. 10 people)

Interested, but the timing doesn’t work?
Let me know. I'll add more events like these and can include the time that fits your schedule.

2. Relationships & Communication

I love the deep insights that emerge during coaching sessions. Sometimes, a situation even triggers me. When that happens, I consider it an opportunity to see what else I can work on, or how that learning might help others on a similar path.

In my latest blog post, I delve into the concept of "tough love" and when it actually becomes the most empathetic choice we can make. While many cultures emphasize that being "always gentle" is best, true growth sometimes requires a more direct kind of support.

I explored this through a systems thinking lens and a specific coaching concept: Big "A" vs. small "a" Agenda. The button below will take you to this article.

While you're there, feel free to browse the other recent articles. I’ve committed to writing a new post every week, and I hope to make this an insightful habit that supports your journey.

I’m curious what are your thoughts on "tough love."
Do you find it difficult to balance being supportive with being direct?

3. Job Search & Career

Speaking of the other blog articles, this one—Introvert Meaning: A Systems Thinking Approach—has a section titled Why 'Introvert Meaning' matters in the workplace.
You might find it useful to better understand why your work environment and different roles might actually block you from fully tapping into your introvert strengths.

Here is my challenge for you:
Brainstorm what you can do to improve the conditions you currently find yourself in:

• What suggestions can you make?
• How can you
adjust authentically to what you cannot change, allowing your introvert strengths to shine?

4. Business & Entrepreneurship

• It's been an interesting rollercoaster approaching entrepreneurial hubs and programs to offer my webinar series. What I enjoyed most is the interest expressed in these topics and the learning experience that comes with it (which helped me improve the outreach process).

• While several collaborations (including the Fashion Zone at Toronto Metropolitan University and three non-profit organizations) are scheduled for this fall, I’ve decided to also organize these entrepreneurship sessions this spring and summer—hosted exclusively by Introverts Academy (listed on Luma). These will be for solopreneurs who are not part of a program or incubator. I’ve even found a great meeting room at a coworking space for the in-person events, and virtual options will be available as well.

• For introverted entrepreneurs like me, this strategic outreach—using a structured proposal—minimizes the energy and time I spend on marketign and promotion, while providing a better return. What works best for you?

• I also joined a B2B bundle promotion with other business owners to offer free resources designed specifically for quiet, introverted, or energy-aware business owners.
If you want to grow a successful business in a way that feels right—without relying on loud, high-energy marketing tactics or constant visibility—this bundle is available from May 10–17, 2026.
Warning: the number of offers might be overwhelming! :-)
The bundle includes the Introverts Academy course:
Networking... the Introvert Way!

5. Mind-Body-Spirit Connection

Spring is a powerful symbol of renewal. As we see nature blooming and temperatures rising, it offers us a wonderful opportunity to:

• Let this renewed energy help us shed old beliefs and habits.
• Take better care of our bodies through increased movement and mindful nutrition.
• Nurture our spirit
by honoring our unique gifts.

Which of these are your priorities right now?

While I focus primarily on mind "maintenance" and meaningful growth, I’d like to recommend Mirela Cojoaca, founder of Zoom-In Nutrition. As a Registered Holistic Nutritionist™ and Certified Metabolic Balance® Coach, she can help you craft personalized nutrition plans to balance your hormones, boost your energy, and support sustainable weight management.

6. Hobbies & Leisure

As I was wrapping up this newsletter, I realized that I usually focus on "hobbies" while overlooking "leisure" activities—so I’ve updated the title of this section.

As my AI friend (Gemini) said, hobbies are typically structured, regular activities pursued for pleasure and skill development. Leisure, on the other hand, is the general, unstructured free time used for pure relaxation.

I highly encourage both to help you better navigate the stressful conditions of our ever-evolving environment. Now more than ever, taking care of ourselves through hobbies and leisure can reduce stress and add a much-needed "spark" to our lives.

Do you take time for hobbies or leisure activities?

If not, you might be surprised by the insights you gain and the skills you build when you step outside the normal hustle.

Hi Reader, In the first few months after coming to Canada 23 years ago, I realized something: the more you help yourself, the more others are willing to help you. This thought came back to me this morning when I noticed how things have picked up since I became better at setting boundaries, and more assertive in my business outreach. Waiting for something to happen, or for others to help us, keeps us in a state that drains our energy. It is difficult to function and achieve good results in...
